RESEARCH OVERVIEW

What is Semax?

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide commonly described in the literature as an ACTH-fragment analogue. Experimental research has examined neurotrophin expression, neuronal signalling and responses to experimentally induced brain injury. Those research areas should be described separately from claims about memory enhancement or protection against neurological disease.

Neurotrophin gene expression

A rat study investigated changes in nerve-growth-factor and brain-derived-neurotrophic-factor gene expression. Gene-expression measurements can identify a biological response, but they do not alone establish functional recovery, a clinical benefit or a complete mechanism of action. [1]

Transcriptomic and protein responses

Experiments using rat cerebral-ischaemia models examined immune-related transcripts and proteins involved in inflammation, cell death and stress signalling. Findings depend on the sampled brain region and time point, and individual marker changes should not be presented as a universal neuroprotective effect. [2]

Neuronal calcium and experimental behaviour

Brain-slice work investigated intracellular calcium fluctuations, while a separate rat study considered behavioural and neurochemical changes following early-life drug exposure. These are specialised experimental systems with different questions and endpoints. [4]

Evidence and limitations

The selected references are primarily preclinical. They do not justify claims that this JGPEP+ vial treats stroke, improves cognition or is safe for self-administration. An ACTH-related sequence also does not imply that Semax reproduces all actions of the parent hormone.

Scientific references describe the material and methods used by their authors. They do not certify this product’s purity, sterility, identity or suitability for a particular experiment. A related analogue, delivery system or combination is not automatically equivalent to the supplied peptide.

Technical identity and documentation

Literature identity: synthetic seven-amino-acid ACTH-related peptide; the reported sequence is Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro. Confirm sequence and chemical form in the supplied batch documentation. Manufacturing source and stability cannot be established from these papers.

For this product’s identity and batch results, visit the COA and documentation page or contact JGPEP+ with the product and batch numbers. Literature values should not replace a matching analytical certificate.

Storage and laboratory handling

Follow the product label and batch-specific supplier instructions. Confirm temperature, solvent compatibility, stability and any reconstitution requirements before use. Storage conditions reported for another supplier or a clinical formulation should not be applied automatically to this material.
